Compressed Fibre Tray

How about something different? Create a small keepsake 3D tray in a square or rectangular style without the need for expensive 3D printing machines.

The flat compressed fibre tray panel shapes are easily printed on both sides using a standard A4 sublimation printer. They are printed exactly the same as coasters or placemats. Once they have been printed they can be formed into a raised tray as the material is ‘scored’ to enable you to fold the edge and then hold them in place whilst the material cools. As the material is slightly flexible when hot it is easily shaped and when cooled the material becomes more rigid and therefore holds it’s shape. The video below shows the simple process from start to finish.

We supply the trays in a square shape and also a rectangular style. The square measures overall 190mm x 190mm and the rectangular size is 267mm x 192mm. Once printed the base measures 120mm x 120mm for the square style and 197 x 122mm for the rectangular size. This shows that the upstands of the tray are around 60mm.

We also supply a rectangular acrylic tray for something extra special.

Please note, we do not supply the clips for holding the edges whilst cooling. Any peg or clip can be used to hold the shape whilst the tray panel is cooling.
